Debbie McCormack

Debbie has been working as a performer in Belfast since 2014 with theatre companies such as Wireless Mystery Theatre and Partisan Productions. She has performed in festivals such as Out To Lunch, Culture Night and Young At Art Children’s Festival. She completed the Bruiser Graduate Academy and was part of the Tinderbox Convergence Ensemble, a pre-cursor to Play Machine.

Debbie is a regular cast member of Murder She Got Wrote Off which has been successfully running several times a year since 2017. She conceived and facilitated Kate Bush Dancercise for the Belfast Comedy Festival, selling out each performance 2 years in a row. She has showcased original comedy sketches and stand-up with sketch group Those Who Can’t and at Amadan’s Bedlam Bazaar.

Debbie has appeared in many short films including The Also Rans comedy webseries. She wrote and directed the short Fetch which won the Director’s Choice Award at the Film Devour Festival held at The Black Box in Belfast.

She has extensive walkabout character experience with The Beat Carnival and in events such as Footsteps in the Forest, alongside various outdoor Halloween and Christmas events.

She has worked as a puppeteer showcasing three short stories by Edgar Allen Poe through shadow puppetry for Down Arts Centre, and co-devised an experimental paper puppetry performance for Young At Art’s new talent showcase.

She was lead guitarist in the band Vokxen from 2016-2018 and appeared in local sell-out musical The Jazzabelles.

Debbie has also written poetry for publications such as Panning For Poems and the Community Arts Partnership
